We are doing a WV trip in aug and the dragon in sept.
As naked bikes go yours is very nice. Have you had much experience with sport bike riding? If not I can recommend a few books which address the fundamentals,. beginning, intermediate and advanced, of riding these "corvettes" of motorcycles.

Of course reading in no way replaces experience but applying the advanced skills of sport bike riding isn't always a physical thing, as our abilities will never surpass the ability of the bike. But being taught how to choose lines, proper braking techniques, how to get lean, posture, etc. can be added to our repertoire through reading and then applying to our skills.

Oh, and my bike will do 0-60 in 2.9 secs on a perfect day. I've had it up to 161 mph and that was not being able to tuck completely since I had a tankbag and saddlebags on. What. A. Rush. I look forward to being able to find the top-end of this 600. I have a track day at Portland International Raceway in August but the straight isn't long enough to get total top end but that won't stop me from pushing.
