Once again, are you just making this up as you go along? How do you know WHAT information they were given for the tests? They could have been given information such as:

A)there will be a missile that needs to intercepted between now and X hours from now.

B) there is a missile being launched at this time and will be headed with this trajectory at this place.

C) information anywhere between the A and B.
