| Re: Why is McCain disliked by a majority of the republicans? I can only speak for myself here. I don't like him because he came from privelege and made the least of it. He was lazy while in the USNA, barely graduating. If it were not for his family legacy, he would have been booted from the Navy early on.
After his Navy years, he sought and bought a position in politics, and spent his time in congress proving that he is still lazy.
He also dumped an ill wife in favor of a younger, richer woman, with whom he was having an affair while still married. She was not the only affair either. Old John has a reputation as being a skirt chaser.
He knows nothing about economics and has pretty much avoided learning anything about it.
And he isn't hard line enough on illegal immigration.
The only things I like about him is that he isn't a liberal, and that he will supposedly veto any bill that has earmarks. Time will tell on the latter...
