On the surface this seems to be a good idea. Indeed, it is in the same spirit as the core libertarian ideology that society is best served by the involvement of private citizens as oppossed to agencies which consist purely of government employees. I see no reason why we shouldn't augment our government's ability to deal with disasters by utilizing the expertise of private citizens; especially those who do so out of a desire to render assisstance unto their fellow man. |
