I think he made huge mistakes on judgment, but 9/11 was still pretty fresh, and he felt we shouldn't play around. I still think he thought Saddam would be an easy target, and we needed to get situated in the ME. Don't think Afghanistan was the right location. Whatever, he should have pulled us out before we did too much damage when no WMD were found. They supposedly knew where they were, so we should have made a bee-line to that area, which I'm sure we did, and when it was empty, we could have said oops, and left. Throw a few billion at them, and be done. Not all the money, and lives that are lost forever.
I feel he's a nin-com-poop, but I'm still not sure he knowingly lied.
How, in this case, can it be proved he lied? He said too many times Saddam had the weapons. He believed it.
