I don't know if they are "coming around". I mean really, do you think for a moment that a Christian conservative would honestly either vote for a Democrat, or not vote at all? I think that they'll vote for McCain despite their personal views on his candidacy, simply because voting for the other option is much worse for them.

They may see eye to eye on abortion, and although McCain and Christian conservatives both oppose gay marriage, McCain will block a Constitutional Amendment. And that's where you'll see this alliance end in my opinion, should marriage equality still be in place in California come December. My guess is that if McCain wins the election and marriage equality is upheld in that state, you'll see Christian conservatives clamoring for a Constitutional Amendment. And I really think McCain will shoot it down, leading to a lot of pissed-off conservatives.

This is speculation, of course. Feel free to disagree.
