Oh I would have, too. And I imagine if there were any "devoutly" atheist students, they would have gotten in trouble, too. It was an affront to one's right to believe and practice how they see fit and it was a blatant disregard to the rights of parents to guide their children's spirituality. The unfortunate thing is, this teacher probably saw it as no more sincere than if they were doing it in the context of a character in a play. Boy was she wrong about that one...you put it well; she had no clue.
