It is ok to be an ideologue, of course, but to not avail yourself of simple facts only makes you look ignorant.
Recorded North Pole history goes all the way back to 1912 or so (nearly a century!!). It does not go back to the period before the Little Ice Age that began 600+ years ago, to the period when the Vikings colonized Greenland.

If the arctic ice pack goes away, it will be that much easier to drill for oil in those arctic waters.
