Yes, it is a different kind of conservatism.
In Israel the conservatives are more people with not so much money, this is not so different from Iran. The conservatives in Israel are rather suspicious about assimilation of Jewish people in other countries, they try to stop this. American conservatives do not care much about Americans assimilating in other countries or not, as long as they do not join groups who want to harm America.
