Will we also end celebrity endorsements? What about incumbent appearances in the media where they tout all the wonderful things they've done to..er, for us?
Politicians will always find ways to sell political favors and the buyers are always going to make sure that you vote for willing sellers. The best campaign "reform" is to eliminate the power to sell those favors.
As for Direct Poll voting, I think the idea is convoluted and somewhat dangerous; but I am all for open government and periods for public comment before a bill can be passed.
