| Re: The 9/11 Truth Movement, Free Energy Suppression and the Global Elite’s Agenda Dear Billy Bob,
There are more than one branch of Aikido. I do not claim to be an expert on all branches of Aikido. I believe it is a logical extension of Christ's teaching to turn the other cheek, to allow a person who was angry at us, to express his anger, while minimizing the interrupting of the flow of his anger.
The teaching of Jesus, I believe, was to trust in the goodness inside the angry person to come through, as the angry person expresses his anger, and hurts us by hitting us.
There are branches of Aikido that teach the application of Aikido techniques to apply sufficient pressure to avoid hurting our opponent, yet protecting ourselves, yet allowing the other person to express his anger by his attempt to strike, kick or hit us. The idea is to set the opponent gently on the ground, so that he will need to use the effort and mental perspective, of standing, from a reclining position.
Stephen Segal, in movies, uses Aikido techniques, often with force more excessive than needed to set the opponent gently on the ground. There are some instances in movies, where an opponent is set gently on the ground by Stephen Segal. But generally, the Stephen Segal movies follow the usual catharsis intent of bad guys being punished, often with maiming and unpleasant death or injury.
Stephen Segal does not generally use Aikido techniques to bring harmony between mimself and his opponent, in his movies.
One story I have heard about the origin of one branch of Aikido was that a black belt martial arts instructor had a disagreement of honor with another martial arts black belt. The two decided to use their martial arts to hurt each other, as an extension of their argument. The instructor won the match, and severely injured the black belt opponent. The instructor regretted seriously injuring his opponent, who was an honorable man.
The martial arts instructor set out on a project of developing strategies to avoid injuries from kicks and blows from an opponent, yet to allow the opponent to express his anger. Further he discovered that when the opponent was placed in a reclining position, that in regaining his standing position, the opponent gained perspective on his anger.
I have also received training from Scientology on how to verbally assist an individual to work through his anger. So as I have applied gentle Aikido, in some few instances, I have also used verbal strategies for helping the opponent express, manage and diffuse his anger.
I am not sure what you mean by a "True Chrisitian". I attempt to follow the examples of Christ. One example Christ gave was in managing anger from others. I use teachings from all religions, philosophies and psychology, etc. to better follow the examples of Christ.
What does "True Christianity" mean to you? To many who claim to follow Christ, it means to turn a blind eye to all all aspects of other philosophies or religions, that in some way, depart from a strict interpretation of any of Christ's teachings. To me, just because some parts of a philosophy or religion do not match my interpretation of Christianity, does not warrant the out-of-hand rejection of all aspects of all the teachings of that branch. I look for wisdom to extrapolate, magnify and expand the teachings of Christ.
