Why are you supporting Obama?

I like how little consideration of psychological factors of being a POW is given in attacking this mans personal life.

So as long as you are POW then you can get off for doing pretty much anything? Does that mean that the guy who blew himself up in Mosul a few weeks ago,.. that was okay because he had been at gitmo and was tortured and imprisoned?

And its not slander by any means. It is part of McCains dirty past, just as his Keating 5 times. People have the right to know what kind of man McCain is...

The McCain family see no issue with it. Classless individuals who have nothing better to do than make crap up do.

You again missed:

Carol insists she remains on good terms with her ex-husband, who agreed as part of their divorce settlement to pay her medical costs for life. ‘I have no bitterness,’

she says. ‘My accident is well recorded. I had 23 operations, I am five inches shorter than I used to be and I was in hospital for six months. It was just awful, but it wasn’t the reason for my divorce.

So why did they get divorced?

He married Cindy only 1 month after the divorce.
That is pretty questionable to me.

Anyhow, i am all for you using McCain's "psychological factors" as a defense.

It opens the door to what I fear most... That psychological factors do exist.
It should not be legal for a man with clear vengeance and hate issues to run for a government office.
Especially one that dictates policy towards nations that imprisoned him.

At a time when relations with Russia have never been more important, we are entertaining the thought of electing a man that holds them to blame for his being tortured.
If there was any hope that McCain could get past it, it was lost when he went on an anti Russian tirade on International TV.

I dont know. But would it be far to say that being a POW may change you a little?

Absolutely fair...

And this is a really good point as to why he is not mentally equipped to handle the job of President.

And no, you can not have it both ways...
Either the POW affected him or it did not.

I have always maintained that it did.
And i am glad to finally see people from the "right" that agree.

Actually this is something that bolsters my opinion that the war and his pow status affected his life. There are psychological reasons I could bore you with.

I agree. And this would preclude obama and Mccain from running.

Is russia your only issue?

And again, so what. Its not the McCain family that we are discussing, but the character of McCain and that he actually did this .. something many people might find very interesting to know about possibly the next President of the US.

I guess you see no moral problem totaly dumping a crippled member of your family by the road side because he or she has become too much of a burden and cant advance you politicaly anymore.... I find it pathetic frankly that anyone could leave their crippled spouse in his or her time of need. Shows a real lack of character in my view.

huh?

Is russia your only issue?

Russia's nuclear weapons are my primary issue.
It should be any intelligent human being's primary issue, assuming they want their species to continue.

Iran is my second largest issue. Or Foreign Policy in general.
But this takes me back to Russia, as I firmly believe the answer to Iran is through Russia.

Terrorism is my 3rd most important issue.
But this also brings me back to Foreign Policy as the 2 are closely related.

With McCain as President, all 3 of my most important issues become unresolvable.

I am sure it would. I imagine being crippled does too. But that is speculation. We don't know why they got divorced.

Obama IMO harbors racist attitudes towards "rich white people".

How are they resolved through obama?>

Obama IMO harbors racist attitudes towards "rich white people".

So is he going to have a clause in his tax code that exempts rich minorities from pay more taxes?

Specifically?

Sure, specifically I believe in moving towards Universal Health care. I also believe in an expedited removal of our troops in Iraq and an increased military emphasis on Afghanistan. To be even more specific, moving troops out of Iraq and moving some of them into Afghanistan. Also, I believe in opening up dialogue with our enemies, as Reagan and every other President with even a little diplomatic saavy did. These issues are representative of marked differences between McCain and Obama. Although I do believe McCain would be better than any of the other Republicans that ran.

I'm not totally with Obama on capital gains and foreign aid, but the above issues I consider paramount to these differences.

Oh and "typical white people"./

"typical" white people is also not a race, but forget the semantics. You believe that he holds animosity towards some segments of the population. I disagree with you there, but based on the fact that you hold that notion without any evidence whatsoever, I'm certain that I won't be able to change your mind.

No evidence?

He said his grandmothers racism was "typical of white people", Racist statment.

He attended a racist church, had a racist mentor, etc. etc.

You may disagree with me but to say I have no evidence is sophomoric at best.

I don't see the big deal. Obama a racist? Maybe, I'd bet dollars to donuts that most everyone has been exposed to some form or racism, most have probably said things that would be considered racist at some point as well. I have seen no evidence that Obama actually acts on any of it.

Come back to me when you have real facts. He did not say his grandmothers racism was "typical of white people". For a second I almost thought we were having a real conversation, but now you are straight up lying. By the way, transcripts of Obama's speeches can be easily attained with a simple google search.

I think we throw the word racism around way too easily. EVERYONE has biases and stereotypes, but not everyone is racist. To buy into the theory that everyone is racist is to water down the term and what it represents.

Apologize for claiming I was lying:

"The point I was making was not that my grandmother harbors any racial animosity. But she is a typical white person. If she sees somebody on the street that she doesn't know. . .there's a reaction in her that doesn't go away and it comes out in the wrong way." -Obama

I'm still waiting for you to stop LYING. Above you state that he says racism is typical of white people. In the real quote above he discusses how she does NOT hold any racial animosity. THese are opposite. You lied and completely misrepresented his statement. Typical.

Where did you get your PHD, a coke machine?

He does:

Obama's speech on race:

I can no more disown him than I can disown the black community. I can no more disown him than I can my white grandmother - a woman who helped raise me, a woman who sacrificed again and again for me, a woman who loves me as much as she loves anything in this world, but a woman who once confessed her fear of black men who passed by her on the street, and who on more than one occasion has uttered racial or ethnic stereotypes that made me cringe.

and then the next day he excuses her racism as being "typical of white people" which in an of itself is a racist statment.

Experiencing racism and being a racist are not the same thing......

Universal Health care
He talks about health care and has a plan for a national health care system. But, in the same speech, talks about how broke this country is. The fact is, this country is so deep in debt, we can't even really afford medicare and medicaid. We are having trouble funding the VA. So therefore, a National Health care plan, which covers everyone, isn't even close to being affordable. Not only that, but it keeps people dependent on the Federal Government.
Getting out of Iraq
Obama will not commit to having all the troops out of Iraq by the end of his 4 year term. He has commited more soldiers to other parts of the middle east to continue the "war on terror" that he has critizies Bush for. Bush should be critizes and impeached for his role in the middle east. But Obama shouldn't try to continue what Bush has done. Even if it's done under a different disguise.
Resuming the fight against Al Qaeda and Bin Laden
See above
Fair tax policy
Taxes aren't fair for anyone. Rich or poor. The higher the taxes are for the Rich people, the less jobs get created. Higher prices at the stores of rich people (which would be all stores) And therefore, the bigger the burden on the poor who buy groceries, clothes, and everything else.
Reduction in Taxes for all, is the only solution.

Sound judgement proven by opposing Iraq from the beginning
Isn't a lap dog to special interests
Hasn't been corrupted by Washington D.C.
Extremely intelligent
Energy policy that is sorely needed

Obama has no energy policy. Taxing oil companies isn't a policy. It's a typical democrat liberal idea that hurts the poor. It allows the Federal Government to collect more money and still have the oil companies to blame.
A good energy policy would relieve taxes and regulations of oil and energy companies. Which would allow smaller companies to compete with the big five. It would give bigger tax breaks to re-newable energy companies that produce solar panals, wind turbines and geothermal units for residential use.

Barack Obama has less than 1 term experience in congress. He has about a 40% t0 50% "No-Vote" record in congress. If he were white and had that same record, we all, (black and white) would all agree, that he didn't have enough experience to be the president.
George Bush didn't have enough experience, and look what we got. Do we really want to elect another person without the experience?

For the record, I'm not voting for Mc-insane either.
