No... its not.. Its what the Nazi's did.
The way you crack down on crime is to pick the ghetto'ist most crime infested area and you sanction rewarding instead of punishing.
You tell the town that if it wishes to recieve help it must learn.
You make a foundation with set guide lines so that they know excatly what they must accomplish. The first section of town that changes itself and crime drops 25% you give incentives and maybe start paying portions of peoples housing simply based on the continous crime reduction.
I have five brothers and I have learned that teaching a little one, middle aged one, and older one by rewarding good behaviour is MUCH MUCH more efficient than focusing simply on repremanding bad behaviour.
How is barricading people from comming into our nations capitol stop crime?
They say they are going to leave pedestrians alone, most violent crimes are commited while on foot. Family member stabs family member. Neighbor gets mad at neighbor. Man brakes into house.
Setting up a crazy checkpoint system is just a way from them to stop roiting from starting and to rake in money from all the little infractions they find when stopping you.
