The United States is operating "floating prisons" to house those arrested in its war on terror, according to human rights lawyers, who claim there has been an attempt to conceal the numbers and whereabouts of detainees.
According to research carried out by Reprieve, the US may have used as many as 17 ships as "floating prisons" since 2001. Detainees are interrogated aboard the vessels and then rendered to other, often undisclosed, locations, it is claimed.
Clive Stafford Smith, Reprieve's legal director, said: "They choose ships to try to keep their misconduct as far as possible from the prying of the media and lawyers. We will eventually reunite these ghost prisoners with their legal rights."

Well, as a seaman I can assert that existence of secret CIA floating prisons is actually no secret for most American seamen. What I cannot say about other CIA secret floating facilities. Huge refrigerated barges that were charted by the US navy from some Latin-American countries. I tell ya, this information is really top secret! But I heard something about them. US navy uses these refrigerated barges to store several thousands (!) of corpses of American soldiers who died in Iraq! Can you imagine this!? How wild! Instead of being buried with all due honors these poor fellows just have to dance on the waves in some damned stinking refrigerator as though they were bulks of butchered cattle! That's insanity and disrespect of their family members' feelings! That owned to our government that dozens of thousands of American guys did not return home alive, but now many of they are frozen and cannot even be buried! That's an outrageous treatment and our government should be answerable!
