Moreover, if you sell weapons what do you think the people that you sell them to are going to do? Hide them under their beds? Hell NO! They will use them which will inevitably lead to the government investigating your company's involvement. |
Thank you. That's what I thought.
Now, how many Americans are aware that the arms contractor scenario in the film is impossible? How many foreigners know this is not the way America works?
In the news today we heard about a story where Dolly Parton is offended by a Howard Stern show production where they edited parts of her audiobook to make it sound as though she was a racist.
To someone who doesn't know any better they might listen to the tape and believe this woman from Tennessee (considered part of the American South) actually was a racist.
But they'd be wrong. She is a lovely, kind, sweet hearted, fair minded woman.
But should she be concerned about how the comedy buffoons on Stern's staff portrayed her? I mean, after all, it was a COMEDY SKIT!
Yes, she should be concerned because people believe lies all the time because the truth is not heard and her career depends on people having a positive impression of her and an accurate impression of her.
America is hated around the world and the people overseas see that many Americans seem to hate America and so they reckon, if the yanks hate America then so should we. They see a film which portrays a fictional scene but without any offsetting knowledge of how America really works they could easily assume that America is corrupt because of what they see in this film and maybe others.
To those of you who already hate America, you won't see what the big deal is about.
And that is the point.
